Galatians 5:22-23

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control”

Lord help me to live by and walk in the fruits of Your Spirit.

Help me to LOVE those that perhaps I don’t always find loveable, and to those that I have been withholding my love.  Help me also to love myself when I don’t feel as though I deserve to be loved.

Let me feel the JOY of your presence around me at all times, not just when everything is going perfect.  But most especially when life happens.  When unhappy circumstances take over and grief and sorrow begin to invade my days.

During those times when my “old” self comes to mind, give me Your PEACE so that I am reminded that I am a new creation in You and as far as the east is from the west…  You removed my sins.

For those times when I become agitated and frustrated with people and circumstances.  When I become impatient that my life isn’t going as I planned…  teach me PATIENCE that I may know that You alone are in control.

Help me Lord to show KINDNESS to those that don’t know kindness.  Help me to remember that they too are your children, and what they need most is a kind word or gesture.

Lord, help me to continue to nurture a spirit of GOODNESS in my life.  When life and cirucumstances run me over, let me not respond with evil or badness.

Guide me in my FAITHFULNESS to You.  Help me to continue to be a steadfast follower and to remain loyal only to You and Your Word.

When my days goes wrong, help me to respond with GENTLENESS and love and not with harshness and cruelty.

And finally Lord, I ask Your divine help with SELF-CONTROL in so many areas of my life.  Help me to stay disciplined and to keep my emotions, actions and desires in check.

Lord I thank You for all that You have done in my life.  For your forgiveness…. over and over and over.  For your unending love and patience and gentleness and goodness.  But most of all Lord, thank you for the Joy that fills my heart.
